Before an Establish standard till 2013, PAS (Publicly Available Specifications) 121 was developed by BSI but it was not a full standard. So, two new standards were drafted for comments by BSI as BS-8524-1(Product Standard) and BS8524-2 (Standard for Application).
As of April 2013 PAS 121 has been superseded by BS 8524-1 and BS 8524-2.
Other UL specifications for Fire test for assemblies (UL10D, UL10B, UL10C, and NFPA 252), Air-Leakage (UL 1784) and several other IBC, NBCC, ASTM, NFPA, BSI standards are considered for these products.
Both products enhance architectural flexibility and, used properly, form important parts of a building’s fire safety strategy.
